Only what keeps the product working.

The short version: we set exactly one cookie — the sign-in token that keeps you logged in — plus a handful of keys in your browser's own storage that never leave your device. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on RoundAlpha, so there is no consent banner to dismiss.

   What this policy covers

   This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies RoundAlpha uses across this website, the practice product and the hiring workspace. Read it alongside our privacy policy, which covers what we do with personal data more broadly.

   “Similar technologies” mostly means your browser's local storage: a place a site can keep small values on your own device. We use it more than we use cookies, because most of what the product needs to remember never has to reach a server at all.

   Cookies we set

   RoundAlpha sets one cookie. It is strictly necessary: without it you would be signed out on every page load, and there is no version of the product that works without it.

   rt	Your sign-in session. Holds a refresh token so the app can renew your access without asking for a new code every few minutes. It is HttpOnly — scripts on the page cannot read it — Secure, and scoped to the sign-in endpoints only.	Up to 30 days, or shorter for an invited interview session. Cleared when you sign out.

   That is the complete list. We set no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, and no cookie belonging to a third party.

   Browser storage we use

   These values live in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not cookies, are never automatically attached to a request, and are not sent to us unless you take an action that needs them — such as starting a session.

   Third-party cookies

   We do not embed third-party advertising, social or tracking scripts, so no third party sets a cookie through RoundAlpha's own pages.

   Two things do involve another party, and both are things you start:

   • Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google's own sign-in page runs under Google's cookies and privacy policy. We receive only your verified name, email address and profile picture.
   • Payment checkout — buying credits hands you to our payment provider's checkout, which sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Your card details are entered there and never on our pages.

   Analytics

   RoundAlpha does not currently run a third-party analytics product. What we know about how the product is used comes from our own server logs — which pages were served, when an interview started and ended, whether a call reconnected — kept for reliability and security rather than for profiling.

   If we ever add analytics, we will update this page before it goes live, prefer a privacy-preserving option that does not track you across sites, and give you a way to opt out.

   Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

   There is no industry-wide agreement on how sites should respond to a browser's “Do Not Track” signal, so we do not act on it specifically. In practice it makes no difference here: we do not do the cross-site tracking those signals exist to prevent.

   Why you are not shown a consent banner

   Under the cookie rules in the UK, the EU and elsewhere, consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary — analytics, advertising, personalisation. We do not set any of those.

   The one cookie we do set is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for, which is the recognised exemption. Rather than train you to click “accept” on a banner that has nothing behind it, we have written this page instead.

8. 08

   How to control cookies and storage

   You are always in charge of what your browser keeps. Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and clear a site's local storage from its settings, usually under privacy or site permissions.

   Signing out of RoundAlpha clears the session cookie. Clearing site data for this domain removes everything in the tables above, including the local drafts.

   Blocking the session cookie will sign you out and stop the product from working — you will not be able to start or rejoin an interview. That is expected, not a bug.

   Changes to this policy

   If we start using a cookie or storage key that is not listed here, we will add it to the tables above and update the “last updated” date before the change goes live.
