The short version: we set one cookie of our own — the sign-in token that keeps you logged in — plus a handful of keys in your browser's own storage that never leave your device. We count page views with an analytics tool that uses no cookie and no identifier. Only if you reached us by clicking one of our ads, the ad platform's measurement script adds two more cookies so it can tell us whether that click led to a new account or a plan. Visitors who found us any other way get neither, and one switch further down this page turns both kinds of counting off.

What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies RoundAlpha uses across this website, the practice product and the hiring workspace. Read it alongside our privacy policy, which covers what we do with personal data more broadly.
“Similar technologies” mostly means your browser's local storage: a place a site can keep small values on your own device. We use it more than we use cookies, because most of what the product needs to remember never has to reach a server at all.

Browser storage we use
These values live in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not cookies, are never automatically attached to a request, and are not sent to us unless you take an action that needs them — such as starting a session.

Until replaced by the next session Audience preference Whether you arrived through the candidate or the employer door, so signing in later lands you in the right workspace. Analytics
RoundAlpha uses a privacy-preserving analytics tool to count page views. It is run for us by the company that hosts this website, so the script is served from our own domain rather than someone else's. For an ordinary visit it is the only measurement tool here: no advertising pixel, no session recorder, nothing that follows you across the web. Visitors who arrive from one of our ads also get the ad measurement described above.
It sets no cookie and stores no identifier on your device, which means it cannot recognise you on a later visit or follow you to another site. What it sends is the page you opened, the page that linked you here, and rough details of your device — browser, operating system, screen size and country. That is enough for an approximate visitor count, and not enough to build a profile of you.
We strip the address before it is sent, so a page whose web address contains an invite link, an interview id or a candidate id is counted as the plain route it came from.
As well as pages opened, we count a short list of actions: a sign-in button clicked, a CV added, an interview started or finished, a pack bought, an invitation opened. Each one is recorded as a running total with at most two plain details attached — which sign-in method, how many minutes the interview was set to, which pack — and never with your name, your account or anything tying the action back to you. The dashboard can say how many people started an interview yesterday; it can never say who, and it cannot follow one person from one action to the next.
Nothing you type, say, upload or are scored on is ever part of it. No CV text, no transcript, no report, no written feedback, no company you named — the numbers here are about pages and actions, not people.
Alongside this we still keep our own server logs — which pages were served, when an interview started and ended, whether a call reconnected — for reliability and security rather than for profiling.
If you would rather not be counted, use the switch below. It turns off page counting and ad measurement together, takes effect immediately in this browser and needs no account.

Off means this browser sends nothing to our page analytics and nothing to our ad measurement. The choice is stored on this device, so it applies to this browser only and is lost if you clear site data.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no industry-wide agreement on how sites should respond to a browser's “Do Not Track” signal, so we do not act on it specifically. In practice it makes no difference here: we do not do the cross-site tracking those signals exist to prevent.

If we start using a cookie or storage key that is not listed here, we will add it to the tables above and update the “last updated” date before the change goes live.
